About our Movement
Welcome to REEEM. We are an apolitical civil rights
movement comprised of like-minded individuals across political spectrums and
backgrounds who share a common vision and mission to drive systemic change and
create a more inclusive, equitable, and just society for all marginalized
minority groups in South Africa.
Our mission is to empower marginalized communities through education, skills development, economic opportunities, and advocacy. Through strategic engagement with policy-makers, government institutions, and other stakeholders, we aim to influence and shape policies that promote fairness, equal access to resources, and opportunities for all.
We prioritize community empowerment and engagement, understanding that change happens from within. By actively listening to and partnering with communities, we work together to address specific needs, challenges, and aspirations. Through capacity building, community-driven initiatives, and platforms for dialogue, we empower individuals to actively participate in shaping their communities and society as a whole.
Skills development and economic opportunities are vital components of our work. We strive to equip marginalized individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to thrive in the economy. Through training programs, mentorship, entrepreneurship support, and partnerships with businesses and industries, we create pathways for economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.

REEEM: Uniting for Fairness, Equality and Justice
We stand at a critical juncture in our fight for fairness, equality and justice. The recent enactment of the Employment Equity Amendment Bill poses a significant threat to our constitutional rights and human dignity. This discriminatory and exclusionary act seeks to marginalize us in various sectors and industries, hindering our access to economic opportunities and higher education. Effective from the 1st of September 2023, companies will be compelled to comply with these unjust and divisive policies, facing severe penalties if they fail to do so. This will result in the forced termination of your services, leaving you vulnerable to unfair labor practices protected by the very legislation designed to discriminate against you. REEEM, as an apolitical civil rights movement, not only opposes this act but is actively working towards establishing a legally unionized wing to protect our members against these discriminatory labor practices. By joining REEEM, you become part of a movement that supports you, much like other unions support their members. Together, we will fight for fairness, equality and justice. We cannot afford to fight this battle alone or in isolation. Our collective strength, engagement and participation are paramount in amplifying our voice and making a lasting impact. A Clarion Call to Unite and Mobilize
The REEEM movement was formed out of frustration with the already implemented Racial Exclusion Employment Equity Bill. We shall not stand idle as our children and grandchildren's futures are at stake, trampled upon and destroyed in the process. We have had enough. It's time to take a real stand and the time is NOW!
